The Gender Challenge Programme (Défi Genre) developed at the French National Center for Scientific Research since 2012, was presented by Anne Pépin (GENDER-NET Project Coordinator) at the 8th European Conference on Gender Equality in Higher Education.
This national programme aims to develop a gender perspective in different scientific fields by funding targeted and innovative research projects proposed by interdisciplinary teams, involving researchers from both inside and outside social sciences and humanities.
The full paper prepared for the Conference presents the institutional context for this innovative CNRS programme, its central features and some of the key research topics it helped develop, as well as its main impacts and perspectives, and highlights the flagship transnational GENDER-NET initiative.
